Golf fraternity supports Sukra to play PGTI

By a Staff Reporter The golf promoters of Nepal have provided financial support to Nepal's number one professional golfer Shukra Bahadur Rai who is participating in Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI). Rai was handed over the sum of 8 lakhs rupees collected on behalf of 13 individuals and organizations amidst a program on Monday. Golf connoisseurs financially supported Rai to play upcoming PGTI and to train at Tarun Sardesai Golf (TSG) Academy in Bangalore for a month. ANFA Executive Committee meeting postponed as President Nembang got indisposed

By a Staff Reporter The All Nepal Football Association - ANFA's executive committee meeting scheduled for today got postponed until further notice. The postponement came after ANFA President Pankaj Bikram Nembang got admitted to hospital due to poor health. As per Kiran Rai, the General Secretary of ANFA, Nembang was immediately taken to Medicity Hospital in Lalitpur as the President felt uneasy. After the initial test, it showed that his blood pressure was elevated. He had to stay under observation for 6 hours to undergo further tests. After which General Secretary Rai informed that the meeting had to be postponed forcefully until further notice. By a Staff Reporter Premier Organics Private Limited reaches a partnership agreement with Nepal's number one professional golfer Sukra Bahadur Rai. In a program organized on Friday, Rai and Pradip Sharada of Premier Organics had signed a Memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the time period of half a decade. The MOU states that it will provide the amount of Nrs. 8.50 lakhs to Rai for the sake of participating in National and International Golf Tournaments. As of the agreement, Premier Organics will provide Nrs. 1.50 lakhs per annum for the first three years and Nrs. 2 lakhs per annum for the last two years. Nepal Fencing Association informed that an 11-member fencing team including eight players will head towards Egypt on Wednesday to participate in the event. Bidur Prasad Gautam has been elected as the president of the Nepal Chess Association (NCA). In the general assembly of the association held on Monday, Gautam was elected unopposed. Rajendra Prasad Rijal stood unopposed for the senior vice president whereas the election was held for three vice presidents. Nasir won gold in the 200-meter freestyle, 100-meter breaststroke and 100-meter butterfly on Monday in a competition organized by the Nepal Swimming Association at Satdobato. On the occasion of President's Women's Sports Participation Enhancement Program, NSC awarded the players from three categories with cash on Monday.
