Sushmita finished 42nd out of 44 participants in the 10m air rifle event, scoring 67.8 points. Duana Lama also had a disappointing performance in swimming. Competing in the first heat of the 200-meter freestyle, she finished last among seven athletes, completing the distance in 2 minutes and 20.74 seconds. This was below her personal best of 2 minutes and 12.46 seconds. Gaurika bags first gold in 9th National Games

By a Staff Reporter Pokhara - Gaurika Singh of Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) bagged the first gold medal in the 9th National Games. Gaurika, who missed 4 events due to illness, won the gold medal in the 100m backstroke on Sunday. This is the first event she completed in an ongoing swimming competition. Gaurika won the gold medal in the 100m backstroke clocking 1 minute 5.5 seconds at the swimming course of Fishtail Academy at Pokhara.
