Nasir bags three more gold

Kathmandu – Nasir Yahya Hussain added three more gold medals in the ongoing 10th NSA Cup Open and Age Group Swimming Championship. With this his gold tally reaches five in the competition.

Nasir won gold in the 200-meter freestyle, 100-meter breaststroke and 100-meter butterfly on Monday in a competition organized by the Nepal Swimming Association at Satdobato.

Nasir clinched gold in the 200m freestyle with a time of 2 minutes 3.80 seconds at the Satdobato Swimming Pool. Following him, Irwin Shrestha finished second in 2 minutes 8.94 seconds. Tenzin Namdol Ryan Gurung, bagged the bronze medal by completing the distance in 2 minutes 9.03 seconds.

Likewise, in the 100m breaststroke, Nasir won the gold in 1 minute 12.45 seconds. Bikash Kumal, who finished second, completed the distance in 1 minute 12.68 seconds and Dipankar Awale, who was third, completed the distance in 1 minute 14.60 seconds.

Furthermore, in the 100m butterfly, Nasir won the gold by completing the distance in 59.60 seconds. In this category, Anubhav Subba completed the distance in 1 minute 00.25 seconds to bag the silver medal and Alvin Maharjan won bronze by completing the distance in 1 minute 5.29 seconds.

On the women’s side, Duana Lama clinched two gold and one silver medal. She secured the gold in the 200m freestyle by completing the distance in 2 minutes 18.05 seconds. Niva Maskey completed the distance in 2 minutes 19.15 seconds to bag silver whereas Anushia Tandukar won bronze with a distance covered in 2 minutes 24.70 seconds.

Similarly, Duana won gold in the 100 meter breaststroke by completing the distance in 1 minute 18.77 seconds. In this category, Upasthi Maharjan won silver by completing the distance in 1 minute 23.63 seconds. Royal Prajapati completed the distance in 1 minute 26.67 seconds to bag the bronze medal.

In the butterfly, Niva Maskey bagged the gold keeping Duana behind. Niva completed the distance in 1 minute 9.51 seconds to win the gold medal. Likewise, Duana completed the distance in 1 minute 12.38 seconds to secure silver and Siyara Subhangi Bajgain completed the distance in 1 minute 24.15 seconds to secure bronze medal.
