Kathmandu – The second edition of the Top of the World Golf Classic at the Mustang Golf Club is set to take place on Saturday in Lomanthang.
29 golfers will tee off at the highest golf course in the world in the prestigious event on Saturday. Due to the high altitude, the event will be played over nine holes under the Stableford format.
The prizes will be awarded to the overall winner, runner-up, best gross, women’s winner, closest to the pin, and the longest drive. Golfers can also be in a unique prize, a horse for Hole-In-One on Hole No. 6.
Mustang Golf Course, which was inaugurated last year, is situated at an altitude of 4650 meters, making it the highest golf course in the world.
Managing Director of Mustang Golf Course, Indra Dhara Bista welcomed all the players from Kathmandu, Pokhara, Dharan, Butwal, and Mustang today.
The Managing Director of Mustang Golf Course Indra Dhara Bista aims to promote tourism in Nepal by marketing Mustang Golf Course as the highest golf course in the world. “In the coming days, Mustang Golf Course will be marketed as the highest golf course in the world and all the stakeholders will work to promote high-end tourism in the country. We shall target bringing many international golfers for the third edition of the Top of the World Classic,” said Bista.
He went on to say “The registration process and legal work for the golf course has been completed recently and now we shall be working towards improving the condition of the Golf course as well as applying for the Guinness Book of World Records.”
The tournament is supported by Lomanthang Rural Municipality, Nepal Investment Mega Bank, Prabhu Bank, German Bakery Pokhara, and Chimley Orchirds Pvt. Ltd.
