Samba Scores As Ra’anana Share Spoils In Israel

Hapoel Ra’anana, Sabitra ‘Samba’ Bhandari’s side in the Ligat Nashim have played a 1-1 draw. Ra’anana played a draw against Hapoel Petah Tikva FC in the second match of the league season.

The only goal of the match for Ra’anana came off Samba in the 66th minute of the match. She took her tally for the season to five goals in two matches. She had scored four goals against Ramat Hasharon in the league opener. Ra’anana won that match 4-0.

She has already featured for her new side in the Athena Cup where her side bowed out in the semifinals with a loss against defending champions Kiryat Gil.

Samba also became the first Nepali to feature in a European league after her appearance against Hasharon. She signed with Ra’anana after having a record-breaking season in the Indian Women’s League last season where she finished as the record goalscorer in a single season while also breaking the record for the topscorer in the Indian Women’s League history.
