Indian cricket star and former international Shikhar Dhawan on Friday arrived in Kathmandu to play the inaugural Nepal Premier League with the Karnali Yaks.
The 38-year-old left-handed opener batsman has been the talk of the tournament since Karnali Yaks announced their big-money signing earlier this month.
Dhawan is anticipated to play at least seven league matches with the Karnali Yaks. The Yaks open their tournament on December 3rd when they play the Janakpur Bolts in the TU International Stadium, which hosts all the NPL matches this season.
The Yaks play their second match on December 6th against the Kathmandu Gurkhas and their third match against the Chitwan Rhinos on December 7th, 2024.
They take on Biratnagar Kings on December 7, followed by Pokhara Avengers on December 10.
Their last two league matches would be against Lumbini Lions on December 13 and Sudurpaschim Royals on December 16.

Yaks, if they qualify further would be taking part in playoffs where the third-placed and fourth-place team would play an eliminator.
The first and the second teams in the league stage play a Qualifier as the winner qualifies for the first-ever Nepal Premier League final.
The winner of the eliminator and the non victorious team from the first qualifier compete for their spot in the final which will be played on 21 December, 2024.
