Hosts Gandaki thrashes NPC in opening match

By a Staff Reporter Hosts Gandaki Province found a winning start in the third Tiger Cup. The hosts thrashed Nepal Police Club (NPC) in a straight set in an opening match at Pokhara Rangashala. NPC earned 23, 20, and 16 points past Gandaki in three sets which were not enough for the victory. Likewise, Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) went down to Nepal APF Club by 3-1 in the first match under the men's event. TAC, who won the first set by 20-25 failed to win further. Nepal APF then defeated TAC by 25-22, 26-24, and 25-19 to begin the tourney with a win. Pratibha and Usha to compete in Maldives Volleyball League

By a Staff Reporter Kathmandu - The National Women Volleyball Team members Pratibha Mali and Usha Bhandari are set to compete in Maldives Volleyball League. Pratibha headed towards Maldives on Tuesday evening whereas Usha will fly to Maldives on Wednesday. While Usha will represent Club Eagles in the league, Pratibha will play for Club Wamco. The league kicks off on January 27 and the final will be played on January 30. In absence of regular captain Lalita Nath, Pratibha lead the New Diamond Sports Academy in the 7th National NVA Club Championship that concluded earlier this week. HamroKhelkud obtains broadcasting rights for Volleyball in Nepal

By a Staff Reporter HamroKhelkud.com has obtained broadcasting rights for all the national and international tournaments organized by Nepal Volleyball Association (NVA) until the end of 2080 BS. The NVA received various proposals in an open application process announced a month ago. The proposal submitted by HamroKhelkud.com was approved by the association's executive committee. Roshan Shrestha, the General Secretary of the NVA, announced the decision and stated that the association believes this will not only help NVA financially but also in overall development of the sports. By a Staff Reporter Nepal remained winless in the CAVA U23 Men's Volleyball Championship that concluded today at Shaheed Suhrawardi Indoor Stadium in Dhaka. Sri Lanka sidelined Nepal 3-2 to secure third position as Nepal concludes fourth in a championship participated by four nations. Nepal marked a good start to the match beating Sri Lanka by 25-22 in a first set. Sri Lanka then defeated Nepal by 19-25 each in second and third set respectively. By a Staff Reporter The Nepal Volleyball team suffered its second consecutive defeat in the CAVA U23 Men's Volleyball Championship. Nepal went down to Sri Lanka in a straight set of 3-0 at Shaheed Suhrawardi Indoor Stadium in Dhaka. Nepal managed to give a tough fight in the first set. However, Sri Lanka overcame Nepal 24-26. By a Staff Reporter Nepal began its CAVA U23 Men's Volleyball Championship campaign with a defeat. Hosts Bangladesh beat visitors Nepal in a straight set of 3-0 in an inaugural match of the championship. Nepal, who were trailing 2-8 earlier in the first set, managed to equalize (10-10) and took a lead of 12-10. However, Nepal failed to defend the lead and went down narrowly 24-26 in the first set. Nepal took an early lead of 7-2 in the second set but Bangladesh regained their momentum and won the set by 22-25. Nepal continued to display a dominant performance in the third set as well. NVA bids farewell to U23 team

By a Staff Reporter Kathmandu - The Nepal Volleyball Association on Sunday bade farewell to the Nepal U23 Volleyball team competing in CAVA U23 Volleyball Championship and the male & female teams participating in Beach Volleyball Championship.
