The Nepal National Volleyball team recorded its third consecutive defeat in the CAVA U23 Men’s Volleyball Championship at Shaheed Suhrawardi Indoor Stadium in Dhaka.
Kyrgyzstan defeated Nepal in a set of 3-2 in the final group-stage match. Nepal lost the first set by 16-25. However, Nepal managed to come back into the game registering a 25-23 victory in the second set.
Nepal, who lost the third set by 17-25, won the fourth by 25-19. Nepal suffered emphatically 6-15 in the decisive last set.
Earlier, Nepal lost to the hosts Bangladesh and Sri Lanka in a straight set of 3-0. Recording a victory in 2 sets, Nepal earned a single point from 3 matches. With the defeat, Nepal concludes the round-robin match remaining first from the bottom. Nepal will now take on the table toppers in the semis.
Every participating team will directly qualify for the semis in a championship participated by four nations. The semi-final of the championship is scheduled for 25th December and the final of the championship will be held on 26th December.
