Desai, who arrived in Nepal on January 28th, took charge of the team the next day. But, he was officially appointed as the head coach after working with the squad for 10 days. The CAN struggled to get approval from National Sports Council (NSC) which delayed Desai's appointment. He has signed a two-year agreement with CAN.
