Aasif was picked up for the award for his decision not to run out Irish star Andy McBrine in the Quadrangular series in Oman on 14 February 2022. In the 3rd ball of the 19th over, bowled by Kamal Singh Airee, Mark Adair went for a big shot. However, the ball stroked his leg and dropped towards the leg side. Nepal to begin U19 World Cup Asia Qualifiers facing Singapore

By a Staff Reporter Kathmandu - Nepal U19 team will begin their ICC U19 Men's Cricket World Cup Asia Qualifier campaign facing Singapore in the last week of February. The teenage Nepali cricketers will then take Kuwait on February 25 after meeting Singapore on February 24. Before meeting the hosts UAE on March 2, the Nepali U19 team will vie against Hong Kong and Malaysia on February 27 and 28. By a Staff Reporter Kathmandu - Crime Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police arrested All Rounder Aadil Ansari and former cricketer Mehboob Alam on the charge of spot-fixing in the Nepal T20 League that concluded earlier in January. Both the cricketers were arrested on Monday morning, the CIB source informed. The source further added they are preparing to arrest some more. Aadil featured Janakpur Royals in the Nepal T20 League, the first franchise league organized by the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), which was in dispute before the start of the tournament. The head coach of U19 side Jagat Tamata had left out 4 players from his 18-membered preliminary squad. Prajwal Thapa, Nirmal Thapa, Tul Bahadur Thapa, and Rajesh Yadav are the left outs.
