By a Staff Reporter Kathmandu - Hosts Nepal will take on against Bangladesh in the final of the SAFF Women's Championship 2022 on September 19 at Dashrath Stadium in Kathmandu. Nepal sidelined defending champions India by a narrow margin of 1-0 to book a spot in the final whereas Bangladesh registered a comfortable victory of 8-0 over Bhutan. Nepal and Bangladesh will face each other in the final for the first time. With five time champion India out of contention, SAFF will get new women champion. Nepal registered a victory of 1-0 in the second semifinal of the SAFF championship. Rashmi Kumari Ghising scored a decisive goal in Nepal's first-ever victory over defending champions India.   Ghising placed the ball into the net during the injury time of the first half. Ghising scored a screamer from inside the box following the cross from Preeti Rai. Nepal's sharp defensive line blocked numerous attempts from Indian forwards. Bangladesh sidelined Bhutan

By a Staff Reporter Kathmandu - Bangladesh National Women Football Team secured the final spot in SAFF Women's Championship for the second time. Bangladesh registered a 8-0 victory over Bhutan at Dashrath Stadium on the first semi-final match of the SAFF Championship 2022. In a one-sided game, Bangladesh scored 4 goals each in both halves. Skipper Sabina Khatun scored a hat trick whereas Jahan Shopna, Srimoti Krishna Rani Sarkar, Ritu Porna Chakma, Masura Pravin, and Tohura Khatun scored apiece in Bangladesh's victory.  Jahan Shopna scored 2 minutes after the kick-off to take Bangladesh into an early lead. By a Staff Reporter India defeats Nepal to clinch the title of the SAFF U-17 Championship in Sri Lanka. India scored 4 past Nepal in the final of the championship at Racecourse International Stadium. Nepal conceded two goals in the first 30 minutes of the match. India took lead through Boby Singh in the 17th minute. Korou Singh doubled the lead in the 30th. In the first match of the day, Bangladesh registered a 6-0 victory over Pakistan. Skipper Sabina Khatun scored a hat-trick whereas Monika Chakma, Mosammat Sirat Jahan Shopna, and Ritu Porna Chakma scored one each. Bhutan, who has been participating in the championship since 2010 scored 5 past Sri Lanka at Dashrath Stadium to march on to the semifinal of the championship. Namgyel Dema scored Bhutan's first goal of the championship in the 42nd minute of the match. Deki Lhazom doubled the lead in the 50th minute.
