Kathmandu – Nepal advanced to the finals of the ongoing SAFF Women’s Championship defeating its favorite rival India.

Nepal registered a victory of 1-0 in the second semifinal of the SAFF championship. Rashmi Kumari Ghising scored a decisive goal in Nepal’s first-ever victory over defending champions India.
Ghising placed the ball into the net during the injury time of the first half. Ghising scored a screamer from inside the box following the cross from Preeti Rai.
Nepal’s sharp defensive line blocked numerous attempts from Indian forwards. Youngster Preeti Rai, who started for Nepal for the first time in the championship was named the Player of The Match.
In the first semifinal, Bangladesh sidelined Bhutan by a vast margin of 8-0. Hosts Nepal will face Bangladesh in the finals of the SAFF Women’s Championship 2022 on September 19.
