Nepal lost to India in the final

India defeats Nepal to clinch the title of the SAFF U-17 Championship in Sri Lanka. India scored 4 past Nepal in the final of the championship at Racecourse International Stadium.

Nepal conceded two goals in the first 30 minutes of the match. India took lead through Boby Singh in the 17th minute. Korou Singh doubled the lead in the 30th.

Nepal’s skipper Prashant Laksham was booked with red in the 38th minute. Skipper Vanlalpeka Guite netted the third in the 63rd minute. Aman scored the fourth in injury time. Earlier, Nepal hammered India by 3-1 in the group stage.  

India’s skipper Vanlalpeka Guite was adjudged the Most Valuable Player and Sahil was named the best Goal Keeper of the Championship. 

Nepal started its SAFF U-17 Championship campaign by defeating Bhutan by 3-1. Nepal got victorious against India in the second outing and marched on to the semifinals as the group topper. Nepal sidelined Sri Lanka from the semifinals with a huge margin of 6-0 and fixed the final match against India.
