Nepal T20 postponed!

The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) announced that the first ever NepalT20 which is scheduled to commence on September 24, 2022, in TU Cricket Stadium has been postponed to December 2022.

CAN requested the Ministry of Home Affairs to provide the necessary security forces at the stadium and at the hotel where the players will reside during the tournament. In return, the Ministry of Home Affairs directed CAN to conduct the Nepal T20 only after the completion of the General Election which will elect 275 members of the House of Representatives. The General Election will take place on 20 November 2022 throughout the country.    

Following the directives of the Ministry of Home Affairs, CAN proposed a new date for Nepal T20 which is December 11th to December 31st, 2022. Six franchise teams Kathmandu Gurkhas, Pokhara Avengers, Biratnagar Super Kings, Janakpur Royals, Lumbini All Stars, and Far-Western United are set to participate in NepalT20 League.

A grade player will get a minimum pay of Rs.15 lakhs. Similarly, B-grade and C-grade players will get a minimum wage of Rs.10 lakhs and Rs.5 lakhs each.

Indian company Seven Three Sports will be a strategic and commercial partnership of Nepal T20 League. CAN had sold the rights of Nepal T20 to Seven Three Sports for the period of 8 years for 33 crores.
