KP FC secures semi-final spot

By a Staff Reporter Kathmandu - Hosts KP FC secured their spot in the semi-final of the ongoing KP Oli Cup sidelining Jawalakhel Youth Club (JYC) 5-4 in the penalty shootout. The regulation time had nothing to separate as both teams found the back of the net once before the match referee Nabindra Maharjan blew the final whistle. JYC's defender Rahul broke the deadlock three minutes before going into the break. KP FC's custodian Purna Chemjong failed to clear Abdulaziz Nishonboev's corner kick which Rahul took advantage of and converted the ball that dropped right in his front. By a Staff Reporter Kathmandu - Satdobato Youth Club (SYC) has advanced to the semi-finals of the KP Oli Cup defeating Nepal Police Club (NPC) 2-1 in an inaugural match at the ANFA Complex in Kathmandu. Dipak Raj Thakuri scored a brace for SYC, while NPC's Prabin Thapa scored a consolation. Dipak connected with Suraj Gurung's corner and headed the ball home just before going into the break. Prabin Thapa scored an equalizer four minutes after the interval. Bangladesh secured their victory with goals from Shaheda Akter Ripa, skipper Shamsunnahar, and Unnoti Khatun, earning them their third title in the championship. The top two teams vied in the final match in a round-robin-based championship. Bangladesh reached the final winning all the matches, while Nepal lost one against Bangladesh.
