Kathmandu – With Martyr’s Memorial ‘A’ Divison League coming at the door steps, the 8 times Champion Manag Marshyangdi Club (MMC) has scooped in former Senegalese National Team Defensive Midfielder Diawandou Diagne Niang for the upcoming ‘A’ Divison League.
An insider source from MMC informed HamroKhelkud about Diawandou’s arrival. “Diawandou has already arrived in Nepal and is currently training with the team,” the source said. MMC, who is holding a closed camp at Pokhara will head toward Hetauda to compete in Makhwanpur Gold Cup. MMC will take on the winners of the match between Nawa Jana Jagriti Yuwa Club and the hosts Makwanpur XI on February 17 where the 28-year-old midfielder is likely to mark his debut for the club.
Diwando previously played with the Spanish Giants FC Barcelona’s B team back in 2014/15. The reports show that he has been included in Barcelona’s first team as well.
Diwando, who featured in Senegal’s U17 and U20 teams, marked his debut in the senior national team in May 2014. He spent the whole 90 minutes in the field against Colombia.
The Aspire Academy product, Diawandu made his move to MMC from Al-Hilal Club, a Sudanese football club, which competes in Sudan Premier League.
MMC has appointed Former Nepal National Team Assistant Coach Kiran Shrestha as their Head Coach of MMC for the Martyr’s Memorial ‘A’ Divison League 2023. This edition’s top-flight league will kick off on March 3. MMC will start their top-flight league campaign by taking on Himalayan Sherpa Club on March 4 at 5:30 PM in Dasharath Stadium.
