Kathmandu – Nepal National Football Team Goalkeeper Deep Karki made his move to the eight times top tier league champions Manang Marshyangdi Club (MMC) from Himalayan Sherpa Club.
Along with guarding the goal post, MMC has added further responsibility to Deep. He will lead the MMC’s team, which will step into the field, probably for the first time in its ‘A’ Division history without any “big names”. The skippers’ post in the team got vacant after Anjan Bista stepped back from the club.
With experienced players like Anjan Bista, Pujan Uperkoti, Rupesh KC, Bimal Rana, and others parting their ways with the eight-times champion, MMC has formed a team full of young talents for the upcoming ‘A’ Division League 2023.
Deep, in his previous stint with MMC, was adjudged the Best Goalkeeper of the Martyr’s Memorial ‘A’ Divison League 19/20 before joining the Himalayan Sherpa Club in 2021. His performance back then even earned him a spot in the Nepal National Team.
