Kathmandu – Ritik Khadka, who marked his debut in the Nepal National Team in September of last year, recently left Nepal and relocated to Australia in search of a better future.
Pradip Humagain, who took over as interim head coach following Abdulla Almutairi’s resignation, selected Ritik to be part of his 23-man squad for a friendly match against Bangladesh. Ritik made his debut for the National Team entering the field in the 82nd minute of the match.
The ongoing uncertainty in the country’s footballing activities and the constant disputes in the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has driven several top-tier players, including more than thirty top-tier division and national players, to choose Australia as their new destination. A few more players are on the brink of making the same move.
Previous national team members Tej Tamang, Dinesh Rajbanshi, Gautam Shrestha, Ranjan Bista, and Nitin Thapa have also made the move to Australia.
Heman Gurung, Alan Neupane, Jagjit Shrestha, Sabindra Shrestha, Sulav Maskey, Bimal Basnet, Bimal Rana, Hemant Thapa Magar, Aasish Lama, Suman Lama, Akash Budha Magar, Shiva Gurung, and many more national players have already been residing in Australia for an extended period.
