Sandeep Lamichhane to play in Jamaican league

By a Staff Reporter Kathmandu - Nepal’s national cricket team captain Sandeep Lamichhane is all set to play in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2022 representing Jamaica Tallawahs. Jamaica has unveiled the names of foreign players for the league. Besides, Lamichhane, Pakistan’s Imad Wasim, Mohammad Aamir and Australian Chris Green and South Africa’s Miguel Pritorious will also be playing the CPL. The CPL will be held from August 31 to September 30. Lamichhane has already played 22 matches in Jamaica, Barbados and Saint Kits and Nevis between 2018 and 2020 taking 37 wickets. Sandeep Lamichhane to play Sri Lankan League for Rs 5 million

By a Staff Reporter Kathmandu - Captain of Nepal’s national cricket team Sandeep Lamichhane has joined Dambulla Giants for the Sri Lankan Premier League for a fee of Rs 5 million. The Sri Lankan club has signed Lamichhane for a fee of US$ 40,000 (Rs 5 million approx.). Lamichhane will play alongside Australia’s D’Arcy Short, Sri Lanka Captain Dasun Sanaka and Bhanuka Rajapakshe who have also been signed by the club. There were 353 players in the auction including 180 foreign players. There are five franchise teams in the SPL, which will be held from July 31 to August 21 later this year. CAN has included left-handed spinner Bashir Ahmad for the first time in the national squad for the matches recognized by the ICC.
