Nepal Squad For SAFF U-19 Championship Finalized

By a Staff Reporter Kathmandu - Nepal's 23-man final squad for the SAFF U-19 Championship has been finalized. ANFA announced the final squad for the tournament on Wednesday afternoon. Head coach Sunil Shrestha left out Nishant Tamang and Niraj Karki from the 25-man squad that was in the closed camp for the past week. These two players have been kept as standby players, according to ANFA. Goalkeeper Jiyarat Sheikh will captain the Nepali side. Nepal are Group ‘A’ alongside Maldives and Pakistan, while Group ‘B’ consists of India, Bhutan, and Bangladesh. Nepal will take on tournament debutants Pakistan in their first match on September 21 in an evening encounter. Ra'anana played a draw against Hapoel Petah Tikva FC in the second match of the league season. The only goal of the match for Ra'anana came off Samba in the 66th minute of the match. She took her tally for the season to five goals in two matches. She had scored four goals against Ramat Hasharon in the league opener. Ra'anana won that match 4-0. Nepal, who had played a goalless draw in the first friendly three days ago, suffered a 1-0 loss today. Win Naing Tun scored the only goal for the home side. Myanmar scored in the 86th minute with a counter-attack right after Nepal hit the crossbar at the other end. Debutant Dinesh Henjan struck the frame of the goal from a Manish Dangi cutback. Nepal Squad Reaches Bhutan Ahead Of SAFF U-16 Championship

By a staff reporter Nepal U-16 Men's National Team has reached Bhutan ahead of the SAFF U-16 Championship. The squad reached the Paro International Airport on Wednesday afternoon. Photo: Bhutan Football Federation The team was bid farewell by All Nepal Football Federation (ANFA) on Wednesday morning and left for Bhutan after the ceremony. The tournament will be held from Bhadra 15 to 24 (September 1-10). Nepal are grouped alongside India and Bangladesh in Group A while the hosts Bhutan, Pakistan and Maldives make up Group B.  Nepal will take on Bangladesh on September 3 and India on September 5.
