Gillespye Jung Karki Set To Debut For Nepal National Team

Tribhuwan Army FC forward Gillespye Jung Karki is set to make his debut for Nepal in the friendly against Myanmar today. Head coach Vincenzo Alberto Annese has revealed his lineup with Gillespye included in the starting eleven.

Gillespye scored six goals and made an assist in the previous season of the A Division League which helped him get into the national team for the friendlies in Myanmar. Gillespye is the younger brother of Nepal international George Prince Karki. Gillespye, who had been called up to the closed camp before has made the final cut for the first time.

Similarly, Annese has decided to field forward Aashish Chaudhary in the vacant left-back position. He used Bimal Panday in that position in the SAFF Championship but kept him out of the squad this time.

Skipper Kiran Chemjong starts in goal with Aashish, Rohit Chand, Ananta Tamang and Sanish Shrestha making up the backline. Laken Limbu, Awas Lamichhane, Manish Dangi, Ayush Ghalan, Anjan Bista and Gillespye altogether make up the midfield and attack.

The match will kick off at 4:15 PM NST. Nepal is in Myanmar to play two friendlies to prepare for the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers first-round fixtures against Laos next month.
