Putellas to miss Euro 2022

By A Staff Reporter On the eve of the euro 2022, Big news came from the Spain squad as their captain Alexia Putellas suffered an ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament) injury. Spain's football federation confirms that she was injured during the Tuesday training session and will not be able to compete in this tournament. She has won best footballer of the year, Ballon d'Or, and was a top goal scorer last season champion league with 11 goals. Also, she scored 18 goals for Barcelona in Primera Division. Recently, she had her 100th appearance for Spain's senior team with 27 carrier goals. Spain is one of the favorites to win this competition and out of leader on the eve might affect them a lot.

Captain Renuka Nagarkoti likely to return from injury layoff after 12 weeks

By a Staff Reporter Kathmandu - Nepali women’s  football team captain Renuka Nagarkoti will be out of action for 12 weeks due to an injury layoff. She sustained an injury on Monday during a training for the Asian Games. She underwent a surgery for broken clavicle at Gwarko-based B and B Hospital the same day. A team of doctors led by Dr Amit Joshi successfully conducted the operation. After the successful operation, Nagarkoti will be able to return to the field after 3 months if there isn’t any complication later on. Nagarkoti was injured due to a tackle by Saraswati Aire on Monday. She lost her balance and fell down and fractured her clavicle (collar bone or beauty bone). She has to undergo surgery, informed All Nepal Football Association (ANFA). According to the football governing body, her clavicle collar bone (beauty bone) was fractured during a training session at ANFA Complex, Satdobato. Agencies FIFA has lifted the suspension of the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) which was imposed due to undue third-party interference, world football governing body said on Thursday. Agencies Teams that have qualified for the upcoming football World Cup will be able to select up to 26 players for the mega event later this year after world football governing body FIFA increased the maximum squad  limit by three on Thursday. FIFA said the change was due to the unusual timing of the tournament as well as the impact of COVID-19 on squads, Reuters reported.
