Kathmandu – Nepali women’s football team captain Renuka Nagarkoti will be out of action for 12 weeks due to an injury layoff.
She sustained an injury on Monday during a training for the Asian Games. She underwent a surgery for broken clavicle at Gwarko-based B and B Hospital the same day. A team of doctors led by Dr Amit Joshi successfully conducted the operation.
After the successful operation, Nagarkoti will be able to return to the field after 3 months if there isn’t any complication later on.
Nagarkoti was injured due to a tackle by Saraswati Aire on Monday. She lost her balance and fell down and fractured her clavicle (collar bone or beauty bone).
The hospital informed that she is likely to be discharged on Wednesday.
Nagarkoti will miss the Women’s SAFF Championship to be held in Nepal from August 29 to September 10. Nagarkoti is also the captain of the women’s team of Armed Police Force Club. She has been a regular member of the national squad since 2010.
