Nepal to begin SAFF U17 campaign facing Bhutan

By a Staff Reporter The South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) announced the fixtures for SAFF U-17 Championship scheduled to take place in September. The SAFF U-17 Championship will run from September 5 to 14 at Racecourse International Stadium in Sri Lanka. Nepal is drawn in Group ‘B’ alongside India and Bhutan. Similarly, hosts Sri Lanka, Maldives, and Bangladesh are placed in group ‘A’. Bhutan will face India in the opener of the Championship whereas Bangladesh will take on Sri Lanka in the second match of the opening day.   Nepal will play its first match of the championship against Bhutan on September 7. Deepa scores 2 in Don Bosco’s win

By a Staff Reporter Nepal Police Football Club midfielder Deepa Neupane's Don Bosco Football Academy snatches its first win in the ongoing Kerala Women League. Neupane scored 2 in 36th and 90+(1) as Don Bosco defeats Emirates FC by 5-2. Neupane who flew to India last week was not included in the first match. However, she managed to bag Player of The Match in her first match and team's second. Deepa was included in the preliminary squad of the Nepal National Women’s team for the SAFF Women’s Championship to be held in Kathmandu next month.

Dangi signs for Club Etehadal Reef

By a Staff Reporter Nepal National Football Team midfielder Manish Dangi signs for Barahin-based Club Etehadal Reef. The club announced the signing of Dangi through its social media on Saturday. Dangi resides in South Korea along with his Family. When his visit to Nepal in 2021, he featured Three Star Club in some Mofasal tournaments before joining Biratnagar City FC in Nepal Super League (NSL). After displaying a dominant performance in NSL, he was called up for the National team. He has played 16 games for the national team and has scored 2 goals. He previously featured the Nepal U18 Football team in 2018. Dangi played for the defending Champions Machhindra Club in the Martyr's Memorial A Division League that was completed last year.

Nepal U-17 preliminary squad reduced to 30

By a Staff Reporter The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has reduced the Nepal National U-17 Football team squad to 30. U-17 team Head Coach Urjan Shrestha axed off 14 players from the preliminary squad on Friday. Almost 1700 players from all over the country participated in an open trial organized by ANFA to form the age group team. 60 players were selected in the initial phase which was reduced to 45 later. Nepal is drawn in Group ‘B’ alongside India and Bhutan whereas hosts Sri Lanka, Maldives, and Bangladesh are drawn in Group ‘A’. The championship will take place in Sri Lanka from the 5th to the 14th of September. The Ex Co meeting decided to dismiss the appointment of Head of Foreign Affairs Nabin Pande, who has been the subject of the most controversy, and appointed him as an advisor of President Pankaj Bikram Nembang. By a Staff Reporter Nepal men's Football team head coach Abdullah Almutairi has requested the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) to call 26 players for the close camp including Anjan Bista and Tej Tamang.   Almutairi sent an email to ANFA General Secretary Kiran Rai to make necessary arrangements for training and has submitted a list of players that he wants to be included in the close camp.
