Bimal and Hemant departed for Australia

Famous names in domestic football, Forward Bimal Rana and Midlfider Hemant Thapa Magar who once represented the Nepal National Football Team left for Australia.

24 years-old ANFA Academy product Hemant who represented Three Star Club in the recent A Division League landed in Australia on Saturday morning.    

Hemant made his senior team debut on June 6, 2016, in a friendly match against India. Afterwhich he used to be called up for a close camp but he struggled to book his spot in the final squad. Hemant has won the SAFF U-19 Championship and 13th South Asian Games (SAG) from Nepal. 

Likewise, Bimal Rana landed in Australia on Friday. Bimal made his debut in the national colors on March 21, 2019. He stepped onto the field in national colors for the first time against Kuwait in a friendly match. He replaced Nawayug Shrestha in the 73rd minute. He has been playing professional football for the top division side Manang Marsyangdi Club. He was also the vice-captain of the team.

Bimal and Hemant will represent Phewa Club, a Gorkha Nepalese League (GNL) club located in Sydney, Australia. They are scheduled to play Tal Barahi Cup on August 14 which is being organized by Phewa Club. Afterward, they will play the league from the Phewa club.

Numerous members of the Nepali National team have already arrived in Australia to pursue their future. Hemant is the seventh Nepali player to fly towards Australia in the past two months. Earlier, members of the National team Suman Lama, Aashish Lama, Santosh Tamang, Darshan Gurung, Nabin Gurung, and Bimal Rana reached Australia.

Former National team members Bimal Basnet, Heman Gurung, Alan Neupane, and Jagajeet Shrestha are in Australia for the past two years. Before that, Sulav Maske, Bibek Pratap Pant, and other players who performed well in the age group flew to Australia.
