The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has reduced the Nepal National U-17 Football team squad to 30. U-17 team Head Coach Urjan Shrestha axed off 14 players from the preliminary squad on Friday.

Almost 1700 players from all over the country participated in an open trial organized by ANFA to form the age group team. 60 players were selected in the initial phase which was reduced to 45 later.
Nepal is drawn in Group ‘B’ alongside India and Bhutan whereas hosts Sri Lanka, Maldives, and Bangladesh are drawn in Group ‘A’. The championship will take place in Sri Lanka from the 5th to the 14th of September.
