Deepa to play Kerela League

Nepal Police Club Women Football team Midfielder Deepa Neupane is flying towards India to play in the Kerala Women’s League. Deepa signed a two-month-long contract with the Kerala-based Don Bosco Football Academy.

Deepa, who has been included in the preliminary squad of the Nepal National Women’s team for the SAFF Women’s Championship to be held in Kathmandu next month is heading toward India on Wednesday.

10 teams will compete in the Kerela League and the champion team will get qualified for the Indian Women’s League (IWL).  

Deepa expressed that she is happy to play in a foreign League. “I am happy to play the foreign league. It will help to flourish my game as well,” Deepa stated. Don Bosco FA is the former runner-up of the Kerala Women’s League. The new season of the league is starting today. Gokulam and Kerala FC will face each other in the opener. Gokulam is the defending champion.

Nepali star forward Sabitra Bhandari is featuring Gokulam Kerela FC. When Gokulam bagged the title of IWL a couple of years ago, Sabitra was the top goal scorer.

Deepa’s Don Bosco will play their first match against Loders PR on Thursday.
