5th Dhana Laxmi Memorial National Squash Tournament to Begin Next Week

By a Staff Reporter Kathmandu - The fifth edition of the Dhana Laxmi Memorial National Squash Tournament, organized by the Nepal Squash Rackets Association (NSRA), is set to commence next week. The week-long tournament will begin on 6th August and run until 12th August, at the NSRA premises, as announced during a press conference in the capital on Thursday. Continuing its valuable support, the Dhana Laxmi Foundation will once again act as the title sponsor for this edition, as it has been doing since the inception of the tournament. The event is organized in loving memory of NSRA's Immediate Past President (IPP), Kishore Maharjan's late mother, Dhana Laxmi Maharjan. By a Staff Reporter Pokhara - Amrit Thapa Magar of Gandaki Province clinched gold in the men's singles squash competition at the 9th National Games. With the competitive victory over Arahant Keshar Singh of Bagmati Province in a set of 3-2 on the squash court at Pokhara Stadium, Amrit won gold in 3 consecutive editions of the National Games. Amrit defeated Arahant in the seventh national game and beat Prabin Kanskar in the eighth to win the gold. Amrit won the first set by 12-10 and lost the second by 8-11. While Amrit won the third set by 12-10, Arahant won the fourth by 9-11. Amrit sidelined Arahant in the decisive fifth set by 11-8 to bag the gold.
