By a Staff Reporter Kathmandu - Indian amateur golfer Sumit Kotwal clinched the title of 9th Nepal Amateur leaving Nepal's number one amateur golfer Subash Tamang behind by one stroke at the par-72 Gokarna Forest Golf Resort on Wednesday. Sumit carded one-under 71 for the 54-hole total of 13-under 203, while Subash finished second at 12-under 204 after he carded two-under 70 in the third and final round. The Nepali team of Subash Tamang and Sadbhav Acharya carded 17-under 271 in the 36-hole competition to register a 14-stroke victory over India. Nepal No 1 Subash carded four-under 68 in the second round and Sadbhav carded a bogey-free three-under 69 for the second-day score of seven-under 137. They had carded 10-under 134 in the first round. The event will be played over 72 holes from 17th April and conclude on 20th April. Cut will be applied after completion of 36 holes, top 21 pros, and ties will make their journey to the final 36 holes along with the top six amateurs and those who survive the pro cut. 31 professional golfers will test their skills for total prize money of Rs 800,000.
