Amateur Sadbhav creates history

By a Staff Reporter Kathmandu - Amateur Golfer Sadbhav Acharya became the youngest winner in the Surya Nepal Golf Tour after he won the Surya Nepal Challenge at the par-68 Royal Nepal Golf Club on Friday. Sadbhav carded four-under 64 in the final round to post the winning total of three-under 269. He recorded a two-stroke victory over defending champion Bhuvan Nagarkoti in the sixth event under the Surya Nepal Golf Tour 2022-23. Sadbhav claimed his first major title at the age of 16 years and 10 months, emulating the previous record held by fellow amateur golfer Subash Tamang, who had won the Surya Nepal Challenge at the age of 16 years and 11 months. The four days tournament which will be played over 72 holes will start on the 28th and conclude on the 31st of March. Seventh-ranked Dinesh outplayed 13th-ranked Ramesh Adhikari 7&6 in the 36-hole final match to win the third event under the Surya Nepal Golf Tour 2022-23.
