Kathmandu – Surya Nepal Challenge, the sixth event under the Surya Nepal Golf Tour 2022-23, will tee off on Tuesday at the Royal Nepal Golf Club.
The four days tournament which will be played over 72 holes will start on the 28th and conclude on the 31st of March.
A total of 38 players including 30 professionals and 8 amateurs are set to take part in the tournament where the cut will be applied after 36 holes.
21 top-scoring professionals with the ties (if any) and the top six amateurs or who make the professional cut will make it to the final 36 holes.
Top contenders are Bhuwan Nagarkoti, Jayram Shrestha, Sanjay Lama, Rabi Khadka, Rame Magar, and national team members Subash Tamang and Sadbhav Acharya. Nepal’s Number one pro-Sukra Bahadur Rai will not be playing in the tournament as he is currently in India.
The event carries a total purse of Rs 545,000. The winner will bag a cheque of Rs. 100,000, while the Runners-up will receive Rs. 65,000. Likewise, third place will earn Rs. 46,000. Others in the top 21 will also receive their share of cash prizes.
