Anjan and Sunil score as Bagmati starts victoriously

By a Staff Reporter Pokhara - Nepal National Football Team members Anjan Bista and Sunil Bal score as Bagmati Province starts victoriously in Men's Football Tournament belonging to the 9th National Games. Bagmati netted two past Madesh Province in a 70 minutes match. The match got held behind schedule due to which full time was reduced to 70 and divided into 35 minutes halves. Both the team went goalless at the interval. Sunil opened an account for Bagmati in the 39th minute. Anjan doubled Bagmati's lead in the 45th minute. In the day's first match, NRNA secured a 2-0 victory over Province 1. Bimal Gharti Magar and Sanjok Rai scored apiece for the oversea side.

Army and Police pitted in same group

By A Staff Reporter Title contenders Nepal Police Club and Tribhuwan Army Football Club have been pitted in same group in the Men's Football of 9th National Games. The matches of men's football will begin from 13th October in Pokhara Stadium and Gosteghat Football ground. Army and Police have been grouped with Lumbini Province in Group C. 11 participating teams have been divided into 4 groups. Winners from each group will book a place in the semi finals. Group A consists of NRNA, Province 1 and hosts Gandaki. Group B will see Bagmati, Madhesh and Nepal APF playing against each other. By a Staff Reporter Kathmandu - A new matter of dispute arises at the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) as ANFA President Pankaj Bikram Nembang registered himself as a candidate for a member of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) without discussing in the Executive Committee (ExCo). 3 Vice Presidents and 11 Members of ANFA ExCo signed a petition demanding the candidacy dismissal of Nembang and submitted it to AFC on Friday. ExCo members claim that Nembang registered his candidacy without discussing it in the ExCo. AFC will hold an election for the 26-membered Executive Committee the following year for which AFC announced the nomination of 14 candidates for 9 open members including Nembang on October 4th. Forward Rejin Subba, Midfielder Akash Budha Magar, and Defender Shiva Gurung left Nepal on Tuesday.   Akash and Shiva made their debut on the National Team when Abdullah Almutairi was in charge. By a Staff Reporter Kathmandu - Anjan Bista scored a hattrick as Nepal registered a comfortable victory of 3-1 over Bangladesh in an international friendly match at Dashrath Stadium. Nepal took an early lead through Anjan Bista in the 18th minute. Bista headed the ball home from Bimal Gharti Magar's freekick. Bista doubled the tally in the 27th minute.  Tej Tamang's shot from inside the box was punched away by Bangladeshi Goalkeeper Anisur Rahman which was easily converted by Bista in the rebound. U-15 women’s team shorten to 30

By a Staff Reporter Kathmandu - The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has reduced the U-15 National Women's team squad to 30. Head coach Bhagawati Rana Magar left out 10 players from the preliminary squad of 40 on Tuesday. The team will take part in the U-15 SAFF Women’s Championship to be held in Bangladesh from November 1-12.
