Kathmandu – Anjan Bista scored a hattrick as Nepal registered a comfortable victory of 3-1 over Bangladesh in an international friendly match at Dashrath Stadium.
Nepal took an early lead through Anjan Bista in the 18th minute. Bista headed the ball home from Bimal Gharti Magar’s freekick. Bista doubled the tally in the 27th minute.
Tej Tamang’s shot from inside the box was punched away by Bangladeshi Goalkeeper Anisur Rahman which was easily converted by Bista in the rebound.
Bista completed his hattrick in the 38th minute of the match. Bishal Rai’s freekick was netted by Bista through a header. Sazzad Hossen scored a consolation for Bangladesh in the 55th minute.
Bista’s hattrick against Bangladesh means he is now the joint third top goal scorer of Nepal. Anil Gurung and Bharat Khawas have scored 10 goals each.
