3 more top division players depart for Australia

3 more top division players, holding international cap departs for Australia to secure their future. Forward Rejin Subba, Midfielder Akash Budha Magar, and Defender Shiva Gurung left Nepal on Tuesday.  

Akash and Shiva made their debut on the National Team when Abdullah Almutairi was in charge. Akash, a regular member of A Division side Satdobato Youth Club first donned the National colors in a friendly match against Mauritius at Dashrath Rangashala on January 29, 2022, while New Road Team’s Center Back Shiva marked his debut against Indonesia in the AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers on June 15, 2022.

Rejin, who represents Machhindra FC in A Division League, featured Nepal in various age group tournaments. However, he was yet to play on the senior team.

In the last 5 months, more than a dozen national and top-tier division players have reached Australia. National players Bimal Rana, and Hemant Thapa Magar flew in July. Suman Lama, Ashish Lama, Santosh Tamang, Darshan Gurung, and Nabin Gurung stepped into Australia in May.

Recently, most of the players and the regular National Football Team members have been departing for Australia to pursue their future. Rajan Gurung, Mikchhen Tamang, Rumesh Bertaula, Rabi Thing, and Amir Shrestha reached Australia on September.

Young goalkeeper Rohit Karki also reached Australia last month. Moreover, Heman Gurung, Alan Neupane, Jagjit Shrestha, Sabindra Shrestha, Sulav Maskey, and Bimal Basnet have been residing in Australia for a long time.
