Nepal eyes for the victory in the opener

Nepal U-17 National Football Team will take on Thailand U17 in its first outing of the AFC U-17 Asian Cup Qualifier today. The SAFF championship runners-up eyes for the victory over Thailand U-17 in the opener.

The match kicks off at 2:45 PM NST at Phu Tho provincial stadium in Vietnam. In the second match of the day, Chinese Taipei will face hosts Vietnam. The match begins at 5:45 PM NST.

The youth side coach Urjan Shrestha mentioned they aim to collect maximum points and qualify for the final round. “I feel the teams in our group fall under the same umbrella. Neither match will be easy and we respect all our opponents. We aim to qualify for the final round collecting maximum points and we will go for a win against Thailand,” said Shrestha in a pre-match conference on Tuesday.

Nepal is drawn alongside mighty Thailand, Chinese Taipei, and hosts Vietnam in Group F.  A total of 44 teams are drawn into 10 groups where Each group winner and six best runners-up will qualify for the final round.    

Vietnam Football Federation will broadcast the match live through its official YouTube channel.
