While Nepal APF Football Club's Sanish Shrestha and Mani Kumar Lama earned their maiden spot in the national team, Nabin Lama returned to the national team after eight years. Likewise, Abishek Baral, Dipak Raj Singh Thakuri from Satdobato Youth Club (SYC), and Manang Marshyangdi Club's (MMC) Sumit Shrestha have been selected for the national team for the first time. The first match of the championship played at Bir Shrestha Shaheed Shipahi Mustafa Kamal Stadium in Bangladesh, saw Shilji Shahji of India score a hat-trick, with Pooja adding a goal for India, while Barsha Oli scored the sole consolation goal for Nepal. Shilji scored the opener in the 10th minute and went on to score her brace in the 40th minute before Pooja made it 3-0 in the 41st. The Prime Minister Three Nations Cup, which is being held under FIFA Window, features Bhutan and Laos as guests and will be played on a single round-robin basis.
