Potential head coaches of the Nepal Cricket team

By a Staff Reporter Following the resignation of Pubudu Dassanayake, the Nepal National Cricket team is in need of a head coach. The Nepal Cricket Association (CAN) office bearers have been rapidly discussing regarding the appointment of a new head coach but salary is becoming the barrier in its way. As Dassanayake resigned in between his agreement date,  the International Cricket Council (ICC) informed that the appointment of coach should not be done through open competition. Moreover ICC suggested CAN to appoint one from their archived shortlists. Dassanayake used to receive a remuneration of $10,000 per month. By a Staff Reporter The International Cricket Council (ICC) has honored Cricket Association of Nepal's (CAN) President Chatur Bahadur Chand with the ICC Long Service Award. Acting Secretary Prashant Bikram Malla informed that the award was presented to Chand in the ICC's Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Birmingham, England for his long term service in the Nepali Cricket Board. President Chand and Acting Secretary Malla flew to England last week to attend the ICC's AGM on behalf of CAN. ICC honors the individual who works in the cricket board with an award every year. By a Staff Reporter Nepal T20 League franchise team Lumbini All Stars has unveiled its logo amidst a press conference in Kathmandu on Monday. Lumbini All Stars was bought by Nepal All Stars, the Nepalese community residing in America. Lumbini All Stars consists of four co-owners. Co-owner duo Sanjay Sharma and Ashik Lama were present in the program. Sharma is also a CEO of the team. Other co-owners are former cricketer Bardan Chalise and Utsav Sigdel. Coach Pubudu Resigns !

By a Staff Reporter Nepali National Cricket Team Head Coach Pubudu Dassanayake has stepped down from his job. Pubudu announced his resignation amidst a press conference on Wednesday. Dassanayake was appointed as a head coach for the second time last year. He quitted today after working for 7 months. He was under pressure due to the bad results of the team recently. Pubudu came back to Nepal last December. Nepal created a history by playing the T20 World Cup for the first time in 2014 when Dassanayake was the head coach. Similarly, Nepal got promoted to Division 2 from Division 4 in between 2011 to 2015 A.D. when Pubudu was in charge of the team for the first time. The four teams are Kantipur Capital, Lumbini All Stars, Biratnagar Super Kings and Janakpur Royals. CAN announced the representatives and name of the company that owns the 4 teams which will compete in the Nepal T20 League amidst a program on Monday. The match will begin at 3:45 PM NST at Titwood Cricket Ground in Glasgow.
