Wuma Kung-fu Championship in Budhanilkantha on Saturday

By a Staff Reporter Kathmandu - Nepal Wuma Kung-fu Association is organizing Budhanilkantha Municipality-level Wuma Kung-fu Championship on Saturday, March 12. Altogether 150 players will compete in the event, according to the chairman of the organizing committee and international referee Siddhartha Lama. The championship will feature competition in 15 different categories of men’s and women’s sections. The championship will be held in Kapan of Budhanilkantha Municipality. The championship will be officiated by referee lama and Uddhav Thapa Magar and Sanjit Kumar Rai. According to the organisers, the estimated cost of the event is around Rs 700,000. Nepali karatekas bag 5 golds in Bangladesh

By a Staff Reporter Kathmandu - Nepali karatekas won four gold medals in the BG Karate Championship held in Bangladesh. Dijen Dolma Lama of Nepal bagged two golds in kumite and kata events of the championship organized to mark the 100th birth anniversary of Mujib (Sheikh Mujibur Rehman). Likewise, Pasang Lama secured gold in 70 kg kata, according  to the team manager Ram Kumar Shrestha. Shrestha informed that Gyalmo Somika Lama also clinched gold medal during the championship. The college also felicitated other three individuals for their contribution to different sectors. They were honoured during a programme organized by the college at Nepal Academy Hall, Kamaladi on Thursday. Gobardhan had won two matches in Tokyo Paralympics for a historic win. Paralympic : Palesha misses out on historic medal

KATHMANDU: Palesha Goverdan missed out on a historic medal in the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games on Friday. Palesha went down fighting by 12-9 to Yuji Li of China in the bronze medal match. Palesha was on the verge of winning the first-ever Olympic medal in the history of Nepali sports. Palesha, who competed in the women's K44 category in the 58 kg weight category, lost to Beth Munro of Great Britain in the first match of the competition. Nepal Para-Taekwondo Team leaves for Tokyo 2020 Paralympics

Nepal's Para-Taekwondo team has left for Tokyo to represent Nepal in the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics. Palesha Govardhan of Para-Taekwondo is the sole representative from the country competing in the K-44 category in the 58 kg weight category. Palesha, who got the opportunity to compete via wild card is accompanied by Coach Kabiraj Negi Lama and Olympian Deepak Bista as official. Kathmandu (Hamro Khelkud) - Nepal Judo Association will be organising the eighth edition of Ambika Bahadur Chhetri Memorial Open Judo Championship from August 11 to 13. The three-day long championship, which will be held at the Lumbini Hall in Satdobato, will see Men and Women taking part in eight age group categories each. Kathmandu (Hamro Khelkud) - Nepal's Manita Shrestha Pradhan has won a bronze medal in the ongoing 11th Asian cadet and 18th Asian Junior Judo Championship being held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. Manita bagged the medal in the under 57 kg weight category where 10 players from 9 countries had participated. In the first bout, She defeated  India's Sabitri by gaining wazari in the golden score period. She then lost to Uzbekistan's Sanobar Sultonova in the second round.
