Nepali karatekas bag 5 golds in Bangladesh

Kathmandu – Nepali karatekas won four gold medals in the BG Karate Championship held in Bangladesh.

Dijen Dolma Lama of Nepal bagged two golds in kumite and kata events of the championship organized to mark the 100th birth anniversary of Mujib (Sheikh Mujibur Rehman).

Likewise, Pasang Lama secured gold in 70 kg kata, according  to the team manager Ram Kumar Shrestha. Shrestha informed that Gyalmo Somika Lama also clinched gold medal during the championship. She won gold in under-35 kg kumite.

The Nepali team also bagged two silver and five bronze medals.

Pasang Tamang (70 kg) and Rajdev Bomjon (65 kg) won silver medals in their respective events. The bronze medalists include Rabindra Kunwar (open category), Eurosid Roka (60 kg), Umesh Bhandari (55 kg), Rabina (45 kg) and Umang Budhathoki (under 14 years age group).
