Japanese Legend Keisuke Honda Set To Feature At Dasharath Stadium

Nepal's league champion, Api Power Church Boys United, will face Bhutan's Paro Football Club in the Challenge League qualifier on August 13. Paro has contracted Japanese midfielder Honda for this match and has also signed nearly a dozen foreign players and will bring other Japanese players to Nepal. According to the group draw announced by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) on Thursday, APF hashavebeen placed in Group C, alongside FC Nasaf from Uzbekistan and Sabah FA from Malaysia. ANFA, appointing Urjan Shrestha as the head coach, has finalized the coaching staff for the youth team ahead of the SAFF U-20 Championship in Kathmandu. Shrestha, a former player, brings his experience as the former head coach in the 'A' Division League, having worked with Three Star Club and Friends Club. Coach Rajendra Tamang has revealed the 23-member team representing Nepal, including long-time absentees midfielder duo Saru Limbu and Renuka Nagarkote. Saru and Renuka sustained injuries during the Asian Games. The squad features a majority of players who participated in the WAFF Championship in Saudi Arabia. Yemen, playing their home fixture in Saudi Arabia, came away with a point after drawing 2-2.  Nepal, after coming back from a goal down to lead 2-1, had to resort to a point after Yemen’s Mohammad Al-Dahi’s equalizer in the first added minute. Nepal Pitted In SAFF Women’s Championship Group ‘B’

By a Staff Reporter Kathmandu (HamroKhelkud) - Nepal have been pitted in Group 'B' of the home SAFF Women's Championship 2024. Nepal have been drawn in Group B at the draw ceremony held in Dhaka on Saturday. Sri Lanka, Maldives and Bhutan make up the group alongside Nepal. Similarly, five-time champions India, defending champions Bangladesh along with Pakistan fill Group A. Nepal have been given the duty to host the tournament for a second successive time from October 17 to 30 at the Dasharath Stadium in Kathmandu. The previous edition saw Bangladesh defeat hosts Nepal in the final 3-1 to win their first title. The first five editions of the tournament went to India.

The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has called up 30 players for training. Rajendra Tamang, who led the team to the final in the WAFF Championship, will continue as head coach.
