Kathmandu (HamroKhelkud) – All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has appointed the coaching staff for the U-20 Men’s National Football Team. ANFA, appointing Urjan Shrestha as the head coach, has finalized the coaching staff for the youth team ahead of the SAFF U-20 Championship in Kathmandu.
Shrestha, a former player, brings his experience as the former head coach in the ‘A’ Division League, having worked with Three Star Club and Friends Club. He also served as the head coach of the U-17 national team that finished as runners-up at the SAFF U-17 Championship in 2022.
The appointment letter was handed over by ANFA Vice President Dawa Lama and General Secretary Kiran Rai at the ANFA Complex in Satdobato on Wednesday. Alongside Shrestha, Sashindra Dhimal has been appointed as the assistant coach and Raju Singh as the goalkeeping coach.
This coaching team will begin preparing the national squad for the SAFF U-20 Championship, which will be held in Kathmandu from August 16 to 28.
Player trials for the SAFF U-20 Championship are currently underway at the ANFA Complex in Satdobato, with around 400 players participating in the central selection process, according to ANFA.
