National Basketball Teams to don Li-Ning kits

By a Staff Reporter Kathmandu - International Sports apparel and equipment brand China Trade Link Company (CTL) ties up with Nepal Basketball Association (NeBA) as the kits partner. NeBA President Bhim Gurung and CTL President Rajen Maharjan signed a Momedurum of Understanding (MOU) amidst a program on Tuesday. CTL is the official distributor of Li-Ning in Nepal. As per the MOU, the National Basketball Teams will don Li-Ning kits while featuring in National and International tournaments. However, the MOU was signed only for a year but CTL President Maharjan said that he is confident about getting the MOU extended. Nepal Army became champion in the men's category whereas Lalitpur High in the women's. Army defeated Royal by 77-65 in the finale held at Nakhipot Youth Club's hall. Army led 10-8 in the first quarter and trailed by 25-26 in the second. Moreover, Army won the third and fourth quarters by 20-13 and 22-18 respectively to secure their title. Royal Sports wins women’s basketball championship

By a Staff Reporter Kathmandu - Royal Sports Central has won the title of Father Watrin Women’s Basketball Championship on Thursday. Royal defeated Xavier International College 42-12 in the final of the event organized by Godavari Alumni Association (GAA). Pratikshya Magar of Royal topscored 11 points during the match. Royal was ahead in all four quarters. It won the first quarter 13-2 while the second quarter ended in a 6-6 stalemate. Royal then registered a 17-0 win in the third quarter followed by a 6-4 win in the last quarter for the comprehensive win. The winners received Rs 25,000 while the runners-up bagged Rs 15,000. Nepal Basketball League in May/June

By a Staff Reporter Kathmandu - Nepal Basketball League Private Limited is all set to organize the third edition of Nepal Basketball League in May/June. The organisers said during a press conference on Sunday that they have decided to go ahead with the league after overcoming obstacles caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. According to the organisers, the men’s basketball league will be held from May 21 while the women’s basketball league will kick off on June 1. The playoff matches in both categories will begin from July 16 while the final will be held on July 23.

Police hammered Kirtipur Municipality 78-23. Samikshya Neupane of Police contributed 11 points to the club. Likewise, Jharana Bajracharya of Kirtipur socred 13 points. Golden Gate 'B' defeated Golden Gate 'A' 21-20 in the men's final held at the National Sports Council's Covered Hall in Tripureshwor.
