Kathmandu – Vietnam Women’s National Football Team has taken a step closer to the Paris Olympics 2024 by advancing to the second round of the Asian qualifiers. They achieved this feat by defeating Nepal 2-0 in the second match held at Dasharath Stadium on Saturday. Earlier, in the first match, Vietnam had won over Nepal by 5-1.
Vietnam dominated the game right from the start and took the lead in the sixth minute through Pham Hai Yen. Just a minute later, Pham scored her second goal of the game, extending Vietnam’s lead.
Despite getting multiple chances, Nepal failed to convert any of them into goals. The two goals scored by Pham were enough for Vietnam to secure a comfortable win against Nepal.
With this result, Nepal’s journey to qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympics has come to an end. Vietnam will now prepare for the next round of qualifiers with their confidence high after a convincing performance against Nepal.
