Kathmandu – Three Star Club defeated Tribhuvan Army Football Club 1-0 in an ongoing Martyr’s Memorial ‘A’ Division League at the Chyasal Stadium on Thursday.
The Nigerian forward, Ajayi Martins Kayode, scored the only goal of the match in the 17th minute which was enough for Three Star to secure the victory. Martins beat the offside trap, received Skipper Bikram Lama’s through pass and beautifully placed the ball into the back of the net in a one-on-one situation.
With this goal, Martins now has four goals in the league, putting him in second place in the league’s goal scorer list, just behind Satdobato’s Dipak Raj Singh Thakuri who has scored five goals.
This victory was Three Star’s third win in the league, allowing them to climb to sixth place with ten points, while Tribhuvan Army FC fell to eighth place.
