Bimal Scores First Goal of the League, Rescues Team from Defeat

Kathmandu – Machhindra FC and Himalayan Sherpa Club shared a spoil as both the side scored once in the Martyr’s Memorial ‘A’ Division League at ANFA Complex on Thursday.

In a closely contested battle, forward Bimal Gharti Magar scored his first goal of the league in the dying minutes, rescuing defending champions Machhindra from defeat.

The match saw both teams struggle to score, with the goals coming in late. Himalayan Sherpa Club was awarded a penalty after Chhiring Gurung of Machhindra handled the ball inside the box. Satyam Sharma then sent Machhindra’s goalkeeper Bishal Shrestha the opposite direction and converted the penalty, giving Himalayan Sherpa the lead in the 86th minute of the match.

However, Bimal Gharti Magar of Machhindra FC found the back of the net in the fourth minute of injury time, equalizing the score and rescuing his team from defeat.

With this draw, Machhindra climbed to the 10th position with six points, while Himalayan Sherpa slipped to 11th place with the same points.
