Kathmandu (HamroKhelkud) – An unbeaten 93-run partnership from skipper Rohit Paudal and Dipendra Singh Airee for the fourth wicket guided Nepal to the 141-run target set by UAE in the Triangular Series opener at the Mulpani Cricket Ground.

Skipper Rohit Poudel remained not out on 51 runs in 40 balls with five fours in Nepal’s victory. Rohit completed his half-century by hitting Mohammad Jawadullah for a boundary in the last delivery. Dipendra Singh Airee remained unbeaten at the other end on 34 runs off 23 balls with three fours and a six.
The start of the innings from Nepal was far from what they’d have liked. Opener Kushal Bhurtel was dismissed for 14 runs off 14 deliveries. Kushal Malla, batting at three, was run out on 11 runs off nine deliveries with two fours in his innings. Aasif Sheikh was dismissed for 23 runs, hitting two fours and a six off 27 deliveries.
Earlier, UAE managed to score 140 runs at the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs. Batting at number six, Basil Hameed remained the topscorer for UAE with 51 runs in 38 deliveries with one four and four sixes.

Ali Naseer scored 32 off 30 deliveries with three fours and a six. Opener Khalid Shah was dismissed for a duck in the first over while the other opener and skipper, Muhammed Waseem scored 17 runs in 18 deliveries with one four and a six.
Alishan Sharafu scored six runs, while Mohammaed Faraazuddin couldn’t add any runs to the total. Sanchit Sharma and Nilansh Keshwani remained unbeaten on two and four runs respectively.
Karan KC took three wickets for Nepal giving away 19 runs in his four-over spell. Gulshan Jha took three for 11 in his three overs. Abinash Bohora and Sompal Kami took one wicket apiece.
Nepal will take on Hong Kong in the second match of the series tomorrow.
