By a Staff Reporter

Kathmandu (HamroKhelkud) – Nepal U-19 National Cricket Team batter Arjun Kumal made the record of the highest runs in any international game for Nepal. Arjun produced a stunning century of 142 runs with 17 fours and 6 sixes in 111 balls against Saudi Arabia in the current ACC U-19 Premier Cup being played in Malaysia.

He set a record for Nepal’s highest runs scored in a single game. Previously, Kushal Malla from Nepal had scored the most runs in a single game. Kushal Malla scored 137 runs off 50 balls versus Mongolia in the 19th Asian Games, which took place in China a few weeks ago.

At any level of international play, that was the most runs ever scored by a batter from Nepal. Arjun smashed the record.

In the ICC U-19 World Cup Asia Zone Qualifier last February, Dev Khanal played a 125-run century innings against Kuwait. In the opening game of the ODI series in 2022 against Papua New Guinea, Rohit Paudel scored a century innings of 126 runs.

Arjun had previously played a 108-run hundred innings against Kuwait in the ICC U-19 World Cup Asia Zone Qualifier in February. Arjun is also the first opener to score two centuries for Nepal U-19.

After losing the toss and being invited to bat first, Nepal have set a target of 349 runs for Saudi Arabia.
