Rangers are the new Scottish Champions

Rangers have been crowned Scottish Premiership champions for the tenth time. Rangers broke Celtic’s vice-like lock on the cup which they have won for 9th straight time.

Rangers have clinched the title with six games to spare after Celtic drew 0-0 at Dundee United. Steven Gerrard’s side’s 3-0 victory over St Mirren at Ibrox on Saturday sealed the title. This season, they are still undefeated in the league.

This is a turning point for Gerrard’s managerial career. He is in his third season as a manager. In both the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons, the former Liverpool captain saw his Rangers side fall shy of Celtic. Rangers have also advanced to the last 16 of the Europa League this season, where they will face Slavia Prague.

Celtic will have to claim themselves for the title again next season but it won’t be easy. They won 12 big domestic trophies in a row.
