Chelsea are hoping to extend Andreas Christensen’s contract as a reward for his excellent form following the arrival of new coach Thomas Tuchel at Stamford Bridge.

The 24-year-old started the season sparingly under Frank Lampard. But he has been a heart of the Blues’ defense since the beginning of February. His comeback has and partnership with Rudiger has doubted Thiago Silva’s return to the starting XI.
As the rest of Europe’s giants circle, Chelsea is keen to lock him down to a long-term deal. With his current contract due to expire at the end of the 2021/22 season, the Danish centre back’s worth is dwindling with each passing month. The Blues will fear losing him for a bargain in the summer.
