Province 1 records the second victory in the National Women’s Cricket Tournament that is underway at Janata Cricket Park in Itahari.

Province 1 defeated Lumbini Province by 9 runs in a match of 9 over. Following the low visibility on the ground due to fog, the match was reduced to 9 overs.
Beginning with the bat, Province 1 scored 59/4 in the allocated 9 overs. Kajal Shrestha and Skipper Rubina Chhetry who opened the innings collected the highest and second highest of 21 and 17 runs respectively.
While Apsari Begam departed for 12 runs off 14 deliveries with no boundaries, Lakita Rajbanshi collected 2. Sabnam Rai and Smirti Katwal remained undefeated for 1 and 4.
Kritika Marasini, Sarswati Pun and Bivasna BC of Lumbini picekd a wicket each.
Later, Province 1’s spinner Sangita Rai claimed 3 wickets as Lumbini was restricted to 50/7. Sabnam Rai, Jyoti Danwar, and Rubina Chhetry further took a wicket each.
Lumbini’s opener Laxmi Chaudhary contributed 31 runs off 17 deliveries with 4 fours and 1 sixer. Sangita Rai bowled her in 5.3 over which resulted in Lumbini’s loss.
No other batter contributed in double digits. With Bivasna BC and Madhu DC leaving the crease for a duck out, Ashma Pulami Magar 2, Saraswati GM 6, Saraswati Pun 1, and Jigyasha Thapa scored 4 runs. Ranju Shrestha remained not out for 1.
With the win, Province 1 topped Group B with 4 points from 2 matches. Lumbini remained below Province 1 with 2 points. Lumbini defeated Karnali Province earlier.
